Hi Deborah, thanks for your message on Twitter…please do phone so we can arrange to meet up and explore how we might get creative about http://www.jennyleeteas together. 01568 709107 Joanna (Jenny Lee’s niece)
Hi Deborah, I’ve just seen the BBC feature. What a fantastic idea. I have been reading poetry since childhood, and still read some stanza’s every day.
All good wishes, I would love to make an appointment sometime. Tony.
Thank you Tony! Keep an eye on our tour dates and come and see us if you’re nearby? Deb
Do you fancy poetryinpresteigne.org for next year? This year’s festival of words will be 16th / 17th / 18th October and Gillian Clarke, National Poet of Wales will be presenting a very interesting evening with guest, Robin Ward on the Welsh Triple Harp.
The festival will have people crying, laughing and wanting far more than our band of fine stewards can muster. There could be people on the streets, rolling over themselves in a panic to reach whatever poems they can access. I’m sure you know well what can occur if people pick up any poem at random and read it without care and attention. Sadly, poems do not come with a health warning like “This poem may cause periods of warmth and unexpected joy” or “Consult your Emergency Poet if after reading this poem there’s a blank look on your face and your eyebrows remain in a normal position.”
You are on poet stand-by across Birmingham on October 10th and you are ready to go into action at Craven Arms on October 28th. The powers that be should realise the need for your emergency service and funding should be found for such on-the-ground front-line poetry support.
